BulTechnoTrade employees took part in a Bulgaria-Slovenia business forum on February 27, 2024. The event was held in the Serdika Hall of the Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel (formerly the Sheraton Hotel), Sofia and was organized by the Bulgarian Executive agency for promotion of SMEs in cooperation with Spirit Slovenia. The forum included bilateral meetings between business representatives from both countries. It was financed via project funds BG16RFPR001-1.002-0001 for “Implementation of measures for the internationalization of Bulgarian SMEs by supporting the activities of the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises” under the Operational Program “Innovations and Competitiveness” 2021-2027. It was inspired from the visit of Mrs. Natasha Pirc Musar – President of the Republic of Slovenia, who came to visit us at the invitation of the Bulgarian head of state – Mr. Rumen Radev.

Official guests of the event were Mrs. Natasha Pirc Musar – President of the Republic of Slovenia and Mr. Rumen Radev – President of the Republic of Bulgaria. The two heads of state delivered welcoming remarks. Ms. Mila Nenova – Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency and Mr. Rok Kaple – Director of SPIRIT Slovenia also participated.

The forum was opened by PhD Boyko Takov – Executive Director of the Executive agency for promotion of SMEs, host and moderator of the event. In his welcoming speech, PhD Takov emphasized that one of the key objectives of the activity of the agency is to support the entry of Bulgarian companies into foreign markets by actively working for the development of their export potential. The way to achieve this is through the organization of trade missions, exhibitions, webinars, bilateral meetings and trainings. PhD Takov added that there is still untapped trade potential between Bulgaria and Slovenia. As an institution and in partnership with its colleagues from Spirit Slovenia, the Bulgarian agency will make every effort to change this trend in a positive direction. Moreover, the institution he leads represents a bridge for business from both countries, and together with its Slovenian partners it is also a member of the European organization Trade Promotion Europe, where both share common values and ideas for trade promotion. PhD Takov also outlined the sectors in which Bulgaria and Slovenia could cooperate – medical and pharmaceutical products, the automotive sector, high technologies, food and textile industries. In conclusion, he pointed out that this year Bulgaria is a partner country of the 62nd edition of the Agriculture and Food Fair – AGRA 2024 in Gorna Radgona, Slovenia. An event that gathers over 1,700 exhibitors and is an excellent opportunity for the industry to position its products and services.

Earlier in the day, PhD Takov and experts from the Bulgarian agencya ccompanied their partners from Spirit Slovenia to Sofia Tech Park, which they visited to see how the Bulgarian Discoverer supercomputer works.
